Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 14 series in Bangladesh on the 20th (Thursday), but it’s also teasing another device – the Redmi A5. So this is probably a bit early, but the A5 is already in stores around the country and people have photographed it and its key specs.
Like the A3 Pro and A4, the Xiaomi Redmi A5 features a large 6.88” 120Hz display, likely a 720p+ LCD (this detail is yet to be confirmed). There is an upgraded 8MP selfie camera in the notch (older models had a 5MP unit) and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

The rear camera moved to a 32MP sensor instead of a 50MP one like on previous iterations. There is talk of AI (because of course there is), though it’s not clear what it does.
The phone is equipped with a 5,200mAh battery, comparable to that on the A3 Pro and A4. The phone reportedly supports 18W charging but comes with a 15W adapter included.
Official teasers for the Redmi A5
This hasn’t been confirmed, but the Redmi A5 is apparently powered by the Unisoc T7250. This is a 4G-only chip with 2x Cortex-A75 (up to 1.8GHz) and 6x A55 (1.6GHz), plus a Mali-G57 (850MHz). This is comparable to the Helio G81 Ultra that was inside the A3 Pro, but it should be slower than the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 inside the A4. And the Snapdragon has 5G support too, so this is a strange step back.
Anyway, the Redmi A5 comes in two configurations – 4/64GB for BDT 11,000 and 6/128GB for BDT 13,000. After currency conversion, the base model comes out to $90/€83/₹7,850. For reference, these are the same prices as the Redmi A3 (the non-Pro variant). The phone is available in four colors as you can see above.

One last thing – rumor has it that the Redmi A5 hardware will be sold as the “Poco C71” in some regions.
