Huawei confirmed its Pura Pioneer Festival event for next week, March 20. The event will see at least one new smartphone announcement alongside more details for HarmonyOS Next – Huawei’s first operating system built independently of Android with an in-house kernel.
According to recent reports, we should see the debut of the Pocket 3 flip foldable. That device is rumored to bring a 6.28-inch folding screen with an unusual 3:2 aspect ratio. The Pocket 3 has previously been described as an iPad mini that folds up, and given that the event will be Pura-themed, it may end up being a member of the Pura series.
Huawei also posted a teaser video for the new device, which suggests it may feature a rollable screen that expands to the side. The teaser also mentions 1610 which could be a hint at the 16:10 aspect ratio when the display is fully expanded.
Huawei’s Celia assistant is expected to gain DeepSeek integration and we should also see the debut of new wireless earbuds and a new Aito electric vehicle.
